Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and TradeRig ("TradeRig", "we", "us"). Please read them before you use the site. If anything is unclear, email support@traderig.app and we will explain it.

TradeRig provides traderig.app, a browser-based lab for practising electrical circuits and fault diagnosis, together with the Safety module, the free demo, and the instructor and school tools (together, the "Service"). TradeRig is operated from Alberta, Canada.

By creating an account, starting a trial, or using the Service, you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund and Cancellation Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

If you set up the Service for a school, college, employer or other organization, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for that organization. In that case "you" includes the organization.

You must be at least 16 years old to create your own account. A learner under 18 may use the Service through an account provided by their school or employer, which is responsible for any consent required for that learner.

You must give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.

Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account. If you think someone else has used your account, tell us right away at support@traderig.app.

One account is for one person. Please do not share your login.

When a school or team sets up TradeRig, its administrators and instructors manage who has access. They can see the work done by learners in their organization, including scores, written diagnoses and assignment progress. While a learner has the lab open, their instructors can also see their live progress and a few of their current meter readings.

Learners who join through a class code or an invitation use TradeRig under their school's or employer's account. If the organization has a separate written agreement with us, that agreement applies where it differs from these terms.

TradeRig is an educational tool. The circuits, components, faults and readings in the lab are simulations. They are simplified models built for learning and will not always match a real vehicle, machine, building or installation.

• Scores, completion records and reports from TradeRig are not a licence, certification, or proof that anyone is qualified to work on real electrical systems.
• Nothing in TradeRig replaces hands-on training under qualified supervision, manufacturer service information, electrical codes, or the laws and safety rules that apply where you work.
• Never rely on TradeRig alone when working on live equipment. Always follow your workplace's procedures, lockout and tagout rules, and the instructions of a qualified person.
• The Safety module teaches hazard awareness. It does not replace safety training that an employer or regulator requires.

Employers and schools are responsible for deciding whether a person is competent to do real work.

Please use TradeRig fairly. You agree not to:

• break the law or anyone's rights while using the Service;
• try to access accounts, data or parts of the Service that are not yours;
• interfere with, overload, or try to break the security of the Service;
• copy, resell or redistribute the Service or its lab content, or build a competing product from it;
• reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows it;
• upload anything harmful, offensive, or that you do not have the right to share.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

The demo, and Safety in practice mode, can be used without an account; practice mode does not save progress. Safety is included with every paid plan and saves your progress there. We may change or end free features at any time.

Prices are shown on the Pricing page in Canadian dollars. Applicable taxes are added at checkout.

• Free trial. Individual plans start with a 14-day free trial. A payment card is required to start it. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your plan starts and you are charged automatically.
• Renewal. Plans renew automatically each month or year, at the price shown when you signed up, until you cancel.
• Cancelling and refunds. You can cancel at any time. How cancelling works and when we give refunds are set out in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
• Price changes. If we change the price of your plan, we will email you at least 30 days before the new price applies, so you can cancel first if you choose.
• School and team plans are priced and invoiced by agreement with the organization.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

The circuits you build, the diagnoses you write and the other content you add stay yours. You give us permission to store, process and display that content only as needed to run the Service for you and, for school accounts, for your school.

We do not sell your data and we do not use it to train AI models. How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them to improve TradeRig without owing you anything for them.

The TradeRig name, logo, software, lab content, examples, scenarios and design belong to TradeRig. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use them through the Service while your account is in good standing. These terms do not give you any other rights to them.

We keep improving TradeRig, so features may change, be added or be removed. We work to keep the Service available, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors, for example during maintenance or when a provider we rely on has an outage.

If we stop offering the Service entirely, we will give paying customers reasonable notice and refund any prepaid time you have not used.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we do not give promises or guarantees beyond those written in these terms, including any guarantee that the simulations match real equipment or that using TradeRig will lead to any exam, job, or certification result.

To the extent the law allows:

• we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data, or business interruption;
• we are not responsible for injury, loss or damage caused by work on real equipment, because TradeRig is a training simulation and not a guide for live work;
• our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer.

You can stop using TradeRig at any time and ask us to delete your account from Settings or by emailing support@traderig.app. Deleted accounts are handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where the law requires it.

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If a dispute cannot be settled by talking to us first, it will be handled by the courts of Alberta, unless the consumer protection law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.

If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.

We may update these terms as the Service changes. The effective date at the top shows the latest version. If a change materially affects you, we will email account holders at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using TradeRig after that date, the new terms apply.
